Coming of Age in a Restored Food Economy Workshop with Winona LaDuke
Kentucky International Convention Center
221 South Fourth Street
Cost – $25
As our awareness of a wide variety of food-related issues matures, the time is right for reexamination and change in the world of agriculture. In this workshop, LaDuke will invite participants to join her in an exploration of a restored food economy. She will talk about the intersection between climate change, peak oil and food security. Participants will also discuss indigenous food varieties, strategies to mitigate climate change and visions for the next energy and food economies.
Winona LaDuke is an Ojibwe community organizer, economist and author who lives and works on the White Earth reservation in northern Minnesota. She was the Green Party's Vice-presidential candidate in 1996 and 2000.
