If the teaser line lured you in to read about this event, let me answer a few questions you may have up front.

What's a splash page? A splash page is a page in a comic book where the entire drawn scene or character fills the entire page.

What's the Third Thursday Splash Page? It's an event on Thursday, Jan. 19th from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Water Tower (LVAA) that will provide you with an up close and personal experience of the world of comic book illustration.

What's the Louisville Artists Syndicate? The Louisville Artists Syndicate is a group comprised of local creatives. The Syndicate consists of visual artists, filmmakers and musicians who aspire to display, discuss, and critique their talents. The Syndicate is for artists - by artists. www.facebook.com/pages/Louisville-Artists-Syndicate/237503692939700

Louisville has a Comic Con? Yep. Director Eric Banister started the convention last summer and is holding it again June 30th. www.derbycitycomiccon.com/

    How much? $5

What can I expect? A very colorful and entertaining Comic art exhibition from local illustrators and more. A live demonstration by artists on the process of drawing comics. Live music by Babyface Glasses and Introvert. Mexican and Latin American food by Hole Mole Food Truck. Falls City Beer on tap.

Should I wear a costume? Only if you want to win $100. Derby City Comic Con is sponsoring a costume contest and the best costume representing a comic book inspired character will go home one Benjamin richer.

Will I have fun? It's up to you Superman.
