Join us for a walking tour of the Clifton neighborhood, starting at the historic 1883 building of the American Printing House for the Blind (buried inside the current structure). On the two-hour tour, we'll find evidence of the evolution of the area from a sparsely populated rural community in 1820 to a densely settled urban Louisville neighborhood. Stops include the Louisville-Shelbyville Turnpike, the Three Mile Tollhouse, Widman's Saloon and Grocery, and the firehouse for Hook & Ladder Company #3—all still standing today, but known by other names. Free to the public, but registration is required. Call 899-2213 to register. Best for older teens and adults.
