Chefs for Hope is an incredible multi-course dinner prepared by Louisville's culinary stars to benefit the Salvation Army Culinary Training Program which takes place Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Park Place on Main. Each chef will prepare one course and they are: Anoosh Shariat, owner of Browning's Brewery & Restaurant; Peng Looi, owner of Asiatique and August Moon; Kathy Cary, owner of Lilly's; Dean Corbett, owner of Corbett's, Equus and Jack's Lounge; Jim Gerhardt, owner of Limestone Restaurant and Daniel Stage, executive chef at Louisville Country Club.
The cost is $250 per person including tax and tip. The events starts at 7 p.m. Make it an early Valentine's Day celebration with exceptional food for a good cause. The 10-week training program, for low income and homeless citizens, instills all of the basic culinary skills needed for work in the hospitality and food service industry. Also included in the training are such things as self-marketing, resume development, workplace ethics and effective communication. Graduates of the program have gone on to work in area hospitals, hotels and restaurants.
