August in Kentucky is prime season for enjoying the fleeting annual crop of heirloom tomatoes, and chef John Castro is offering the perfect opportunity to savor the harvest with special dining events at Winston’s. The heirloom tomato dinner will take place on August 7 and 8 at 6:45 p.m. in the restaurant’s dining room at Sullivan University, and the seven-course menu offers everything from classic tomato soup to an intriguing tomato dessert.
Winston’s heirloom tomato dinner is a highly anticipated annual event and space is limited, so please make reservations in advance. The price of the dinner is $55 per person, or $75 per person with wine pairings (four glasses), plus tax and gratuity. An intermezzo will feature a tasting and discussion of several heirloom tomato varieties. For reservations, please call (502) 456-0980.
