The Louisville Pops Orchestra rings in the holiday season with the annual King Southern Bank Holiday Spectacular, Thanksgiving weekend. This
wholesome evening of holiday music will take place at the Brown Theatre Saturday, November 24th at 7:00pm. This concert, led by newly appointed Jason Weinberger, will feature traditional holiday tunes performed by the Louisville Pops Orchestra and a chorus made up of local choirs. Of course, no holiday concert would be complete without a visit from our friends at the North Pole! Santa Claus will make a special appearance before and after the concert to meet the Louisville Pops Orchestra audience and guests! This concert was originally supposed to feature a special guest performance by 7 year old trumpet prodigy Geoffrey Gallante. Geoffrey recently lost his two front teeth and will be unable to perform on Saturday.

Jason Weinberger was recently appointed associate conductor of the Louisville Orchestra. Recognized by Leonard Slatkin as one of a new generation of gifted American conductors', Jason Weinberger has led the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra (where he is the current Music Director) to critical and audience acclaim. Jason has gained a reputation for a bold, creative programming style that focuses on bringing new and lesser-known American music into the orchestral repertoire. He spearheads the programming and presentation of rapidly expanding educational initiatives and actively teaches at the high school, college and graduate levels. In his new role, Jason will focus primarily on educational and family programming within the Louisville Community.
