C.H. Rucker is a local resident of Charlotte, NC. Originally from Louisville, KY, Rucker is a graduate from the University of Louisville. He has served with the U.S. Coast Guard, worked as a photographer/writer and now lives and works in Charlotte. Campus Killer is Rucker's first book, his second book is currently in the works.

The novel has explicit language and even Rucker advises that if anyone is easily offended they should not read the book.

CAMPUS KILLER takes place in the small mid-western town of Bishop, Indiana. Bishop College developed from an old small monastery college near the Ohio River and over the years the college evolved into a small college of the arts and sciences.

The town of Bishop lived and breathed through the college. If Bishop College ceased to exist, so too would the town of Bishop. The Bishop College administrators called the shots and got pretty much anything they wanted from the town mayor and police dept. When the killings at the college began, the administration made it clear that the media was not to get wind of the murders. The administration knew that if word got out that a killer was on the loose at Bishop College, enrollment would drop and it would essentially be the death knell for the college. There was virtually no major crime to speak of in this sleepy mid-western town that made it the ideal hunting ground for the killer.

Bishop College employed a small security force that had minimal law enforcement training and the duties of the college security officers consisted mostly of alcohol and traffic enforcement on the campus grounds. When the first campus death occurred, the campus security officers assisted Detective Simms with the Bishop Police Department; little did either party realize that this was the start of something far more sinister than anyone could possibly imagine.

As the murders increased, so to did the suspicion that the suspect just may well be an employee of the college; and who would have better access to all of the campus buildings and be able to move among the students and faculty undetected, other than a campus security officer.

When the murders became more sadistic and violent with no solid leads, the stress took its toll on those working the cases. When a new detective took over, tempers flared between the Campus Security Chief and the new young Bishop Police Detective. Then through profiling, evidence, and surveillance, the suspects were narrowed down until one individual stood out from the rest. A cat and mouse pursuit into the old abandoned clock tower finally ends with a climactic gun battle between good and evil as justice is served.
