Enjoy an evening of zesty live Latin musical entertainment by Cosa Seria, a 6-piece powerhouse of salsa and other Latin/Tropical rhythms, including Meregue, Bolero and ChaChaCha. Salsa dancing demonstrations will be provided by Salsa Dance Louisville. Guests will have an opportunity to cool down with an El Jimador specialty cocktail or a Pepe Lopez frozen margarita, complimentary food samplings provided by Liquor Barn, and giveaways from Louisville Public Media.
AfterHours guests are invited on a guided tour of two new exhibitions, Beyond the Log Cabin: Kentucky’s Abraham Lincoln and Ed Hamilton’s Lincoln. In Beyond the Log Cabin, the Commonwealth’s signature Lincoln bicentennial exhibition, the untold story of Lincoln’s lifelong engagement with Kentucky and Kentuckians is revealed. Ed Hamilton’s Lincoln will take you through the artist’s process in creating the Louisville Waterfront Park Lincoln Memorial. Providing a broad view of Lincoln, these exhibitions offer an opportunity to deepen one’s understanding of this extraordinary, yet ordinary man.
Admission to AfterHours is free for museum members, $10 for non-members. Parking is available in the Speed garage for $3 / members, $4 /non-members.
