In these hot, humid summer months, it is hard to look chic and fabulous without sweating your ass off.  We are fans of layering and lots of accessories, which is hard to pull off when the high is 101 degrees.  When it’s that hot out, the last thing we want to do is add extra clothing to our bodies.  Our favorite way to look chic while staying cool is to wear light, breezy tops.  To us, they are synonymous with the summertime.  Since we can wear the same 4 or 5 pairs of shorts only so many different ways, this is the easiest way to spice up our look.  We found great options at Cargo, located on Frankfort Avenue.  Bright colors stay chic when paired with neutral bases, such as white shorts or a gray denim skirt.  We love the blue, yellow, and red paisley tunic that can double as a dress and as a top (see picture below).   Pair the navy and white striped top with a crisp white skirt or pair of shorts for a preppy, nautical look.  The white half button shirt is great with bright colored bottoms or printed shorts for a pop of interest.  The great thing about these shirts is that they are fantastic pieces to transition into your fall wardrobe.  Add some leggings, boots, and a great scarf and you are ready for the cooler weather.  We are all about utilizing longevity in our clothing!  Check out our pictures from Cargo below.

If you take anything away from this blog, you must visit Holli Hillman Pauly at Cargo.  Her store is bursting at the seams with excellent taste and character.  She has only been open for about a month, but we can already tell that Louisvillians are going to go nuts for it.  Check her out on Facebook where she features pictures of outfits put together with items from Cargo.  See, she has already done the work for you.
