Bourbon Tasting & Book Release Reception - Four Roses: The Return of a Whiskey Legend - Al Young, Jim Rutledge & Michael Veach
To start your holiday season, celebrate an iconic part of Kentucky heritage, bourbon. Join us for a bourbon tasting and reception to celebrate the launch of a new book that traces more than 100 years of history through the unique perspective of the rise, disappearance and resurgence of a long-time bourbon brand.
Jim Rutledge, Four Roses Master Distiller, will be serving Four Roses Bourbon, while The Filson’s Michael Veach will conduct a tasting of Prohibition-era Whiskey. Al Young, Four Roses Brand Ambassador, will be on hand to sign Four Roses: The Return of a Whiskey Legend. This book connects one of the oldest bourbons to the Civil War, early Kentucky Derby’s and debutantes, Prohibition, the start of neon advertising in Times Square, and today’s premium bourbon boom.
This event will begin at 6:00 p.m. at The Filson Historical Society. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served, and copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing by the author. Tickets are $50 per person, and are limited in availability. Reservations are required. You may make reservations by calling Scott Scarboro at The Filson at (502) 635-5083.
