Mary Ingalls, the older sister of children’s author Laura Ingalls Wilder, was left blind after from scarlet fever when she was fourteen. As a young teen, Laura was her sister’s “eyes,” describing everything she saw around her. But what happened to Mary when she and Laura grew up? Come to the Museum to learn all about her life, and take a look at some of the books from her library, sing along with some of Pa’s fiddle tunes, weave a beaded bracelet (the same as those Mary made for her sisters), and have some birthday cake made from Ma’s recipe. Come in costume and participate in our Ingalls Family Look-Alike Contest. This event is free and open to the public. Call 899-2213 by January 6th to register.
