What are the odds you'll like these five local December events?

7:1 (Long shot) Martinis and Mistletoe Fund-Raiser

    Upside: Kissing strangers.

Downside: Actually, we’d rather not know what goes down beneath the mistletoe after you’ve gulped a few martinis.

Dec. 9. $20; free for members. Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft, 502-589-0102, kentuckyarts.org

5:1 The Louisville Chorus Christmas Concerts

Upside: The Louisville Chorus singing holiday favorites in New Albany, LaGrange and at downtown’s Cathedral of the Assumption.

Downside: Go to all three and we’ll call you a groupie.

Dec. 4, 11 and 12. $6-$18. Locations vary. Call 502-968-6300 or visit louisvillechorus.org for information.

7:2 The Judds: The Last Encore Tour

Upside: For this farewell concert, the mother-daughter duo of Naomi and Wynonna Judd will dig into a country-music catalog that dates back to 1984. The Juddheads — yes, that’s what they’re called — will surely join in during “Why Not Me?” and “Girls’ Night Out.”

Downside: Fighting back tears during “Love Can Build a Bridge.”

Dec. 3. $52 or $72. KFC Yum! Center; call 367-5144 or visit kfcyumcenter.com for information.

3:1 University of Louisville vs. University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball

Upside: NBA teams drafted John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins — and three other former Wildcats — in the first round of the 2010 draft, which means this: Those guys cannot take over this game.

Downside: A Cats victory in their first KFC Yum! Center appearance could ruin New Year’s Eve for Cards fans.

Dec. 31. $35. KFC Yum! Center; call 367-5144 or visit kfcyumcenter.com for information.

    2:1 (Odds-on favorite) The Nutcracker

Upside: For Hanukkah, Scrooge gives the Sugar Plum Fairy a BB gun and she shoots the Rat King in the eye and it’s the best Christmas pageant, well, ever.

Downside: We may be getting our holiday productions mixed up

    Dec. 4-19. $25-$95. Kentucky Center, Whitney Hall, 584-7777, kentuckycenter.org.
