The Louisville community is encouraged to face diabetes and other health issues at the Health Empowerment Festival hosted by the Louisville Urban League and Lilly’s Fearless African-Americans Connected and Empowered (F.A.C.E.) Diabetes campaign. This free event will feature free screenings of blood glucose levels, cholesterol and blood pressure along with a series of health and wellness workshops led by local physicians. As part of the F.A.C.E. Diabetes campaign, diabetes educators will be on hand to conduct a special diabetes workshop and provide practical tips and advice on how individuals can improve the management of the disease. Children will be entertained by face painters, a mobile library and balloons. For more information, visit www.FACE-diabetes.com or www.lul.org.
