Taylorsville Road to Lexington RoadThe Highlands and the Highland Commerce Guild are kicking off the Holiday Season with an “Open House” celebration on Saturday, December 3, 2005 dusk 'til 10:00 p.m. This festival of shopping, eating, drinking and merriment is celebrating 20 years of bringing people from all walks of life together. Boutiques, eateries, and businesses all along Bardstown Road open their doors offering entertainment, food, drink, discounts and much, much more. Meet new friends and bump into old ones while walking or caroling from store to store OR ride the Trolley filled with Elves for an old-time tradition. This Baxter-Bardstown beloved corridor will have musicians singing and bagpipers booming. To top it all off, each business will compete in a decorating contest and the Highlands are excited to announce Terry Meiners and family as the Honorable Judges! Responses from friends when asking what their favorite thing is about Bardstown Road Aglow are: “The warm fuzzy feeling the street brings to life.” “Bringing friends and family together prior to strolling down the road which gets us in the Christmas spirit.” “Bumping into friends which you haven’t seen in years.” In honor of this 20-year old Celebration, Commonwealth Bank who is opening a new branch on Bardstown Road, as well as BBC Beer Company and Coffee News are on board as Corporate Sponsors to support this wonderful event.
