B. Deemer Gallery presents
“Around the World”
New Paintings by Madison Cawein
B. Deemer Gallery presents the latest in a series of paintings by Lexington, Kentucky born/current Santa Fe, New Mexico resident artist Madison Cawein. The exhibition opens with a reception for the artist on Friday, May 15 from 5 – 7 PM and continues through July 7, 2009.
Realist painter, Madison Cawein, introduces a new series of paintings that are the result of the impressions made upon him while on a recent worldwide expedition. The exhibit will include images from New Zealand, Australia, Oman, Egypt, Spain, and France.
Madison has created images characteristic of each stop made, but in most cases (the pyramids of Egypt being an irresistible exception), the images depicted are not the typical postcard views often associated with the places visited. Due to a need for creating more travel-friendly scaled work, these paintings are smaller and more accessible than what is usually seen from Madison, who is best known for his large botanical canvases. This exhibit also includes some of the first true landscape paintings that Madison has painted.
B. Deemer Gallery is located at 2650 Frankfort Avenue, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 10:00 am – 5:30 pm, and Saturday 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Please contact the gallery by phone at (502) 896-6687, or by email at bdeemer@bdeemer.com for further information or images on this artist.
