This year's Exhibition of the American Society of Architectural Illustrators' juried entries presents a selection from the best work in the field of architectural rendering. The artwork displayed represents a diverse body of styles, including both digitally produced and hand-drawn techniques.
Architectural illustrations are used to convey a design idea—to inform and inspire a client, benefactor or the public about a concept for a building project that, at the time, only exists in the mind of the designer. Typically produced in the early stages of a project's design, illustrations can run the gamut from photo-realistic representations of the future to emotion-charged sketches that represent the spirit of the final work.
