Summer is a time for children to have fun. The American Cancer Society believes that being affected by cancer shouldn’t spoil a child’s summertime and is offering the 13th Annual Touched By Cancer Youth Day Camp. The camp will be held Friday, June 18, 2010, at President’s Park in Edgewood, Ky., from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. It is offered at no charge to children, ages 6-12, whose lives have been touched by cancer in some way.
Similar to other summer camps, the Touched By Cancer Youth Day Camp will feature numerous games and activities for campers, including arts and crafts, a balloon launch and a magician. This year’s camp is titled “Welcome To A Knight’s Tale” and is centered on a medieval theme of knights and castles and dragons.
Registration is limited to the first 100 children. The deadline to register a camper is June 11, 2010. Contact the American Cancer Society’s Northern Kentucky office at (859) 647-2246 or 1-800-227-2345 to request an application or for additional information about the camp. After June 11, call (859) 647-2200 for information on availability.
