White jacketed tuxedos, shaken-not-stirred cocktails and James Bond-types will take over Actors Theatre of Louisville’s annual fundraiser January 27 at the Seelbach Hilton. This all-you-can-eat lobster dinner event titled Bond, Lobster Bond is sponsored by Chase for the fourth year. The evening will begin with cocktails and a silent auction at 6:30 p.m., followed by an exotic 007-themed dinner at 8 p.m. and jazz in the hotel lounge by Dick Sisto until 1 a.m.
Actors Theatre board member Stewart Lussky chairs the 18th annual fundraising event, with co-chair and fellow board member Mary Laura Heine-Crawford. Reservations for the casual, costume-optional evening are highly sought each year resulting in 700 guests who enjoy more than 2,000 pounds of lobster. This year's accompanying dishes include grilled chicken, bowtie pasta with tomato vodka sauce, grilled vegetable antipasto and "Diamonds are Forever" desserts prepared by Seelbach Hilton Chef Matt Durham. The specialty "shaken, not stirred" martini is poured with Brown-Forman’s Finlandia vodka.
A silent auction concludes with a live auction which starts after a winning raffle ticket is drawn at 9 p.m. This year’s raffle prize is a box for six for the Oaks and Kentucky Derby, plus six tickets each for the Derby post position draw, media party, luncheons for both races and VIP credentials. Raffle tickets are $100 each and only 500 are available for sale.
Live auction items include walk-on guest appearances on NBC’s Scrubs and CBS’ CSI:Miami and a visit to the set of NBC’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
