As is tradition, the public is invited to tour Whitehall's gardens throughout the day and enjoy its impressive collection of over 50 peony varieties. The peony's alluringly fragrant blooms and lush foliage create an enchanting effect in the springtime garden, and as a cut flower, there is simply no equal. This event is free and open to the public.
A selection of herbaceous peonies will be offered for sale, including old-fashioned varieties from the Whitehall gardens and other varieties from Klehm's Song Sparrow Farm in rural Avalon, Wisconsin. Peonies will be sold for $20/plant. The peony sale will be held from 5:30 p.m. - 6:15 p.m., or until supplies last. Please note that early access to the sale area will not be permitted.
In addition to the traditional peony sale, this year's event will also feature a lecture by Roy G. Klehm, one of the foremost authorities on peonies. The lecture will be held at 6:30 p.m. inside the Whitehall mansion and conclude with a Q&A and special peony live auction. The cost for attending the lecture is $15/person.
