The 6th Annual Kentucky Art Car Week/files/storyimages/will take place August 3-4, 2007. Art car artists from across the country will converge on the 700 Block of West Main Street, where their cars will be on display Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday morning. Friday evening car artists will be available to talk with visitors about their cars, and some will have original works of art available for sale. This will coincide with the first Friday gallery hop in downtown Louisville. Saturday morning the car artists and their cars will be back on Main Street, where a special workshop related to art cars will take place in front of KMAC. Around noon, the art cars will embark on a festive parade from downtown out Bardstown Road through part of the Highlands.
KMAC’s Art Car Week/files/storyimages/is just one of many art car events across the country throughout the year. The art car phenomenon is gaining popularity all the time!

Thursday, August 2 9-11pm Mellwood Arts Center
*The Mellwood parking lot will become a full fledged drive in movie theatre, complete with a concession stand and a radio transmitted sound.
Friday, August 3 9am - 5pm KMAC
*Art cars from around the country will arrive and park along the 700 block of Main Street. There will be artists selling their work and artist demonstrations.

*First Friday Trolley Hop - Featuring artists selling their work, artist demos and live music.

*Cars will leave Main Street and caravan to Lynn's Paradise Cafe, driving along the Market Street strip and passing 4th Street Live!

*The parade will begin at 1:30, travel down Market Street to Baxter, down Bardstown Road to the Midcity Mall and circle the Douglass Loop, ending at the Bardstown Road Presbyterian Church parking lot.
