Historic Locust Grove will hold its 5th annual Used Book Sale, Friday through Sunday, March 13,14 & 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A preview for Friends of Locust Grove will be held Thursday, March 12th, from 5:00-7:30 p.m. Friends memberships will be available at the door.
This is a great opportunity to pick up high-quality books at bargain prices, and benefit a local organization at the same time. The sale will feature all categories of used books from mysteries to children’s books, history, cookbooks and reference books. A well-sorted selection of 12,000+ books will be offered for sale. Books are priced at $2.00 for hardcover, $1.00 for trade paperbacks, and .50 for regular paperbacks, with a new section for special books and antiquarian books which will be priced higher. Teachers and librarians with school ID will receive a 10% discount. On Sunday afternoon from 2:00-4:30 p.m. books will be sold by the bag for $10.00. Book appraiser Charles Bartman will do free book appraisals on Saturday at 2 p.m.; limit two books per person. Locust Grove is located at 561 Blankenbaker Lane between Brownsboro Road and River Road, about six miles from downtown Louisville.
