About the Composers
Rachel Grimes
Book of Leaves is the first solo piano album by the musician and marks a new level in her artistic evolution. Inspired by the interaction with the outdoors, Book of Leaves is a collection of impressionist chapters woven together with chordal themes and field recordings. Grimes, a member of Rachel's, has been a guest on albums by the Frames, Sonora Pine, Tara Jane O'Neil, Shannon Wright, Shipping News, and has performed numerous times with her solo piano work. She has recently completed a residence with SITI Co. at Columbia University and is currently finalizing the full album with King's Daughters & Sons due out this fall.
Daniel Gilliam
The Director of WUOL 90.5 FM, Daniel Gilliam is a composer from Louisville, KY. His music has been performed by ensembles ranging from the Louisville Youth Choir to the Turin Philharmonic in Italy. He is a member of the American Music Center, Pi Kappa Lambda and ASCAP.
Louis Moseson
Louis Moseson has played chamber music with the Jewish Community Center and the Southern Baptist Seminary orchestras.
