Despite a downturn in the economy and a windstorm that brought regional power outages, strong attendance totals were recorded for the 44th National Farm Machinery Show. During its four-day run at the Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC), February 11-14, the Show attracted 306,706 people – the second highest attendance total in Show history. The greatest number of people (312,206) turned out in 2006.
“It was quite satisfying to see the show’s exhibitors and attendees filling more than 1.2 million square feet of agricultural displays,” said Harold Workman, President & CEO of the Kentucky State Fair Board which produces the Show. “Even with the additional space of the North Wing, which opened in 2007, we sold out of exhibit space more than two months ago.”
More than 800 exhibitors filled the 27 acres of floor space at KEC during the National Farm Machinery Show’s annual stay, furthering its reputation as the largest indoor agricultural exposition in the nation. The Show continues to draw both national and international attendees and exhibitors, generating nearly $21.5 million annual economic impact across the community and the commonwealth.
The 45th National Farm Machinery Show and the 42nd Championship Tractor Pull will be held Feb. 10-13, 2010.
