    What I Love About Louisville:
The thing I love most about Louisville is that so far we've succeeded in keeping it a big, small town! My moms family is from a very, very small town in rural Kentucky, and growing up I always loved that everyone knew everyone! And in Louisville, it's hard to go out and not run into someone you know or who knows someone you know. I love that! I also love that the city is working hard to revitalize a lot of the older parts of town, i.e. NuLu. So glad we are getting more museums. I am looking so forward to when funds are raised for a Children's Museum here. Louisville has so many family-oriented happenings, and so many are free. I grew up in south Louisville, and moved to Lyndon for over 30 years; but I came back to take care of my sick, elderly parents. Upon moving back, I had a bit of a culture shock...not one bookstore and only one Starbucks! No Heine Bros. at all!! LOL But I did find that so many people that were raised here have stayed here, and not because they had too, but because they chose too. They love it here and take pride in their community. I've been back to south end for over 7 years now, my parents are gone now, so I could leave - but I don't think I will, in the time I've been here I have realized I have a feeling of family here that I didn't have in Lyndon. But I love all the neighborhoods in Louisville, their differences, the similarities. We are all very different, but yet the same!
