    About Me:
Norman Fields is the pseudonym for a Louisville researcher, policy advocate and writer who could be considered more or less a one-person think tank, except that he despises think tanks.
    What I Love About Louisville:
I love the astonished looks on visitors' faces as the pre-conception of a dull town that makes booze and cigs, then goes to bed at 10 pm vanishs. "Is there a college in this neighborhood?" one woman asked me as she searched for an explanation for the Highlands' ecclectic features. Still, there is an informality and genuineness to the city -- you can still find diner waitresses who call you "hun."
