The debt ceiling issue has bared the fact that the Republican Party is now so fractured that it cannot constructively participate in governance. It is time for Mitch McConnell and John Boehner to provide the leadership they are paid to provide.

When President Obama stated that he couldn't guarantee that Social Security checks would go out if Republicans force the government into default, those Republicans said they would and accused him of scaring seniors. Neither side has explained why payments would or would not go out. Here's the scoop.

No, the government has not raided the Social Security Trust Funds.Yes, it is possible Social Security checks won't go out if Republicans put the USA in default.

Mitch McConnell may have no faith in the federal courts or Kentucky's law enforcement capabilities... but the mayor and city commissioners of Bowling Green do! They support trying the Bowling Green terror suspects right here at home, in civilian courts.
