About Me:
I am a journalist, birth doula (labor coach) and nanny. Not in any particular order but I've been published as a feature writer, columnist or blogger all of my adult life from L.A. and back to Louisville. Don't ask how long but my first computer was DOS disc-drive. So there.
I feel that being a professional in the childbirth community of Louisville is my finest work. Being part of a birth team with parents, medical staff or midwives at hospitals and homes is a vocation that I have enjoyed since training at the Seattle Midwifery School in 1999.
Dedicated childcare for my birth clients was a natural, if you will, progression. With the trust and experience already in place, I enter an educational and entertaining relationship with the household when the need for a nanny arises. I commit for one year but find myself remaining with the families for three to seven years.
Politically, I'm fond of the Centrist category. I'm a Democrat for life but since I'm in the U.S.A. I feel comfortable with voting across party lines.
Spiritually, I try to follow the Golden Rule and a fan of Merton, Jesus, Berry and Buddha.
Socially, I blend in but don't go out of my way to be up past midnight. Unless there is a baby on the way, of course.
What I Love About Louisville:
The friendly nature, the rich history of the region. Front porches, great music, supper to share at most any table.
