In the past year, Cardinal Athletics has enjoyed its best run of excellent performances and championships ever. It's what U of L's Vice President and Director of Athletics Tom Jurich had in mind all along.

When Rick Pitino's Louisville basketball surged to a second-place finish in the Big East, U of L decided it was time to offer Pitino a new deal.
