Todd Frazier’s one-out, two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning propelled the Louisville Bats to a 2-1 win over host Durham in the Governors’ Cup semifinals at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Louisville leads the best-of-five series 2-1 and can clinch a spot in the Governors’ Cup championship series with a victory at 7:05 p.m. Saturday or 5:05 p.m. Sunday.
Indianapolis managed only three hits, but two were first-inning home runs in the Indians' five-run first at-bat, on the way to a 6-2 win over the Louisville Bats at Louisville Slugger Field on Wednesday night. The Bats, however, maintained their 1 1/2-game lead in the International League West because second-place Columbus lost to Toledo.
Veteran catcher Corky Miller, left, ignited the Louisville Bats' comeback from a 3-0 deficit in the final two innings of their 6-3 victory over the Indianapolis Indians at Victory Field on Monday night. Miller hit a leadoff home run in the eighth inning, then a go-ahead, two-run double in the ninth to help Louisville keep its half-game lead over Columbus in the International League West.
