Toledo pitcher Charlie Furbush recovered from a shaky start to shut down the Louisville Bats' bats over the final eight innings as the Mud Hens beat Louisville 8-3 Saturday night at Louisville Slugger Field. However the Bats maintained their 1 1/2-game lead in the International League West because second-place Columbus also lost.
Highly-touted pitching prospect Aroldis Chapman (left) a threw a 105 mile-per hour fastball, and struck out the side, in the top of the ninth inning then Danny Dorn made a key baserunning play and Wilkin Castillo delivered the game-winning hit in the bottom of the ninth as Louisville beat Columbus 2-1 at Louisville Slugger Field. The victory gives the Bats a 1 1/2-game lead over the Clippers in the International League West with 10 games to play.
A five-run seventh inning, and five hits from Dave Sappelt (left), propelled the Louisville Bats past the host Indianapolis Indians on Saturday night and into first place in the International League West. Louisville's victory, coupled with Columbus' lost, gave the Bats a half-game lead in the division.
One night after hitting a walk-off, grand slam in his Triple-A debut to beat Syracuse, catcher Devin Mesoraco (left) hit a second-inning granny to lead Louisville to a 6-2 victory over the Chiefs on Thursday night at Louisville Slugger Field. It was the Bats' franchise-record 14th straight win at home.

It was their 13th straight win at Slugger Field, and it also moved them within 1 1/2 games of Columbus in the International League West.
