Description: The Louisville Zoo is hosting “The World’s
Largest Halloween Party!” presented by Meijer on October 8-10, 14-17,
21-24 and 28-30. Not-so-scary family-friendly fun, trick-or-treating
(for kids 11 and under), roaming costumed characters, a pirate’s cove, a
giant taking pumpkin, super heros, an ogre’s swamp, a headless
horseman, animatronic Dinosaurs! at Night and so much more. Tickets are
$8 per person and event entry begins at 5 p.m. (to 8:30 p.m.). Advance
discount tickets are available at area Meijer stores beginning Sept. 27
for $1.50 off full-price tickets. Louisville Zoo members receive free
admission to the Party Oct. 8-10 & 14-17 and half off the other

feature a special tribute to Councilman George Unseld, a long time
supporter of the festival who passed away in June. The free festival is
planned for Friday, October 8, from 6:30-11 pm, and Saturday, October 9,
3-11 pm, at the Gate on Garvin Place and Oak Street in Old Louisville.

There also will be guided nature walks, a geocaching activity and
displays by park user groups, including the Derby City BMX, the River
City Radio Controllers and the Louisville Astronomical Society.
Children are encouraged to wear their costumes. Great family fun!
There is no cost for the activities. A $5 per car parking fee will
benefit the Tom Sawyer State Park Foundation, which provides financial
support for programming and facility improvement at the park.
