Extrasexyhippzster, third choice in the field at odds of 4-1, earned a Brisnet speed figure of 101 for his five-length romp in the six-furlong Don Rickles Stakes over the Aqueduct inner track Dec. 21. He has three wins in five career starts and will make his first grades stakes appearance. The Michael Trombetta runner also boasts a win in the Miracle Wood Stakes in his last start. Regular rider Julien Pimental retains the mount. Extrasexyhippzster, along with Samraat, will carry 123 pounds, three to seven pounds more than their Gotham rivals.

At 10-1, Rick Violette’s Financial Mogul may be worth a play. This son of Street Boss has twice tackled Kentucky Derby frontrunner Cairo Prince, albeit he was beaten in both battles. In the one mile Nashua (G2) Nov. 3 he finished second, 2 ½ lengths behind Cairo Prince. In his last start, the 1 1/16 mile Holy Bull (G2), he was sixth, eight lengths behind Cairo Prince. He’s eligible to improve in his second start off the layoff and second time at a route. Jockey Shaun Bridgemohan picks up the mount from Jose Ortiz, who rides Samraat.

The field from the rail out with odds is: In Trouble 5-1, Financial Mogul 10-1, Uncle Sigh 3-1, Noble Cornerstone 5-2, Monopolize 30-1 (who’s rumored to scratch), Deceived 15-1, Classic Giacnroll 20-1, Samraat 5-2, Extrasexyhippzster 4-1, Master Lightning 20-1, and Harpoon 10-1. The race is the 9th on Aqueduct’s Saturday card with a scheduled post time of 4:17 p.m. It can be seen on HRTV and TVG. Click here for free race PPs courtesy of Brisnet.
