Have you ever had any negativity about being an openly lesbian comedian?

"Well, my mother was not pleased with my decision to come out. It's hard for me not to feel guilty about my orientation. But I discovered if I'm not honest on stage, the audience can see that. I used to be a part of the problem, but I'm trying to be a part of the solution. Whether or not my orientation is a big part of my show depends on the audience. But I definitely have not gotten gigs before because I was a lesbian. Comedy is a man's industry, and is still dominated by men. It's tougher on women. Men generally joke a lot more with each other, even off stage. That's just what guys do. Women don't enjoy heckling as much. Women love jokes and have a great sense of humor, but the best jokes come from heckling the audience and getting material from them."

Tell me more about the Queer Queens of Qomedy tour.

"I don't have a name that could sell out a theater as a headliner. In the gay community, I could do that. But they would say 'yes' to three comedians trying to sell out a show. The tour has been going on for six years, and I always change the lineup. This is the first time for the current lineup, and Louisville will be the first stop of the tour."

Have you played in the south before?

"I played in Ft. Worth about three years ago. Someone came to the show and wrote a review, which basically said that I was going to hell."

Have you been to Louisville before?

"I've been to the Derby before, and actually played a Derby party for Pillsbury a few years ago."

Tickets for the show are available online, and range from $20-65.
