Uncle Sigh – Chip McEwen, one of the partners in the ownership group of Wounded Warrior Stables, is a big fan of Duck Dynasty and named the horse after "Uncle Si" Robertson. According to the Jockey Club rules for naming a horse, if you want to name a horse after a living person you have to get written permission from the namesake. However, McEwen doesn’t actually know Si Robertson—yet—so he went with the spelling of S-i-g-h instead of S-i.

We Miss Artie – Contrary to what most people think when they learn that We Miss Artie’s sire is Artie Schiller, the colt is not named for his sire. After purchasing the horse, owners Ken and Sarah Ramsey took the opportunity to use this son of Artie Schiller to honor Ms. Ramsey’s cousin’s late husband, who was named Artie.

General A Rod – This is another horse with a misleading name. Most would think the owner is a fan of the New York Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez and named the horse after the player, but owner J. Armando Rodriguez actually named the Roman Ruler colt after himself.
