Fashion reaches a new high as three Kentucky-based fashion designers lend their talent to the 2009 Animal Gambill couture pet clothing line which is being showcased on Sept. 12, 2008 @ the Clifton Center in Louisville, KY. This unprecedented event/"launch party" will feature an upscale pet fashion show, live jazz, complimentary hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction, and a cash bar. All proceeds from this Furrific event will benefit Animal Gambill's Critter Crusade, a non-profit organization focused on educating children about being kind, safe and responsible with animals via interactive discussions, entertaining presentations and informative literature.

To help get kids involved in the activities of the week, Boombozz Famous Gourmet Pizza has teamed up with Renaissance Fun Park in Middletown to host the inaugural Putter Cup, a grueling 36-hole mini-golf tournament that will pair parents with their kids to battle for the “Cup”.
The tournament is open to any child aged 7-12 who is paired with an adult 18 or older, preferably a parent. Entry fee per team is $35 and includes 36 holes of mini golf, lunch provided by Boombozz, the official “putter cup” tee shirt, entry into door prize contests, a prize bag that includes merchandise and coupons from sponsors, and the opportunity to participate in a silent auction that includes single-day passes to Ryder Cup activities at Valhalla and dozens of other sponsor-donated merchandise and services.
All proceeds from the silent auction will benefit Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Players will compete not only against each other, but against 36 challenging mini-golf holes on the premier course in Louisville. Each team will enter the lower of their two individual scores after each hole.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 13 from 8:30am-1pm and is limited to the first 72 teams to register. Teams can register in advance online at www.louisville.com/puttercup .

Chance's Spot, Pet Loss and Support Resources, would like to invite all friends of animals to the Second Annual Honoring the Animals Candlelight Vigil to be held on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Brown-Forman Amphitheater. The event is free and will take place from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. This year's event will include live music, poetry reading, and a moment of silence as candles are lit in memory of our animal friends. Attendees are welcome to bring their own special candle and pets. However, PETS MUST BE ON A LEASH. It is also reccomended that you plan for the weather as the vigil is outdoors and will take place rain or shine.
