Over the last decade, brunch has become much more than a meal eaten too early to be lunch but too late to be breakfast. The term itself is no longer just a noun, but also a verb that has become significantly popular. And now that “brunching” is a thing, the big question is where should we do it?
Louisville is a big city full of endless options of outstanding cuisine, especially when it comes to brunch. And this city’s latest restaurant trend is serving brunch even when the menu is specifically for lunch and dinner. A large number of Louisville’s best dinner restaurants have jumped aboard this brunching bandwagon and have gone as far as adopting an entirely new schedule of hours and a new menu just to open the doors a few hours earlier in order to serve patrons their own unique spin on breakfast foods.
But hey, we’re not complaining.
And as of last month, Chef Maria’s Bistro [4] of Old Louisville has officially joined this roster of brunch-serving restaurants. Every Sunday starting at 10am, Chef Maria and her team of Greek cuisine experts whip up a full spread of mouth-watering deliciousness for the restaurant’s new brunch buffet that is sure to take your taste buds on vacation to Greece.
Here’s just a little peek at what you can expect to load your plate with:
Zucchini frittata
Stuffed grape leaves
Spinach pie
Blueberry pancakes
Baklava
Greek style green beans
Pork roast with rice
Biscuits and homemade gravy
Country sausage and bacon
Hot Italian sausage with spicy potatoes
Northern beans cooked in tomatoes
Greek yogurt with fresh fruit
And for those who tend to overeat and are trying to avoid the challenges of self control at such an extensively delicious buffet, Chef Maria is now also serving up made-to-order gyros on Sunday mornings as well!
Chef Maria’s Bistro is located at 107 W. Oak Street and is open for dinner Tuesday – Saturday from 4pm – 10pm and on Sundays for brunch from 10am – 3 pm. Each brunch buffet is $15.95. For a complete menu, visit the restaurant’s website [4].
