Bridesmaids from varying backgrounds have reasons to avoid the wedding in Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, which Little Colonel Playhouse will present beginning this weekend.
Five Women Wearing the Same Dress goes on June 5, 6 and 11-13 at 8 p.m. There will also be matinees June 7 and 14 at 2:30 p.m. All performances will be at Little Colonel Playhouse at 302 Mt. Mercy Drive [4] in Pewee Valley, KY.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 60 and over and $12 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door or reserved by calling 502-588-1557. Keep in mind Little Colonel Playhouse does not accept credit cards.
In the comedy-drama Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, five bridesmaids are trying to avoid the wedding proceedings for varying reasons. The bridesmaids include a sweet but sheltered fundamentalist, the sarcastic lesbian sister of the groom, a divorcee with extreme behavior, the younger sister of the bride with a rebellious streak and a cynic who has her feelings changed about men when she meets one of the wedding ushers. As the day progresses, the five women discover surprising commonalities with one another in their feelings on marriage and life.
The play, created by Alan Ball, is directed by Jeff Mangum at Little Colonel Playhouse. The actors include Meghan Logue, Sue Crocker, Jayme Thomas, Chelsey Jackson, Kelly Kapp and Steve Brutscher.
