Memorial Day weekend is on the horizon, and Chef Annie Pettry of Decca is back with the newest edition of "Beats and Eats" and you don't want to be the last one to hear about it. This Thursday, tucked inside the restaurant's underground cocktail haven, The Cellar Lounge, the East Indies-inspired affair will feature Chef Annie's interpretation of dishes inspired by Thailand, Vietnam, India and the Philippines alongside hip-hop tracks courtesy of DJ Ryan Rugger. The bar will be full and flowing all night long and guests can look forward to drink specials like The Cellar Lounge's infamous "Five Dolla Holla" (which features a shot of bourbon and a can of beer for $5), a featured cocktail and $2 sake.
The menu for "Beats and Eats" always highlights foods from a different part of the world but offers bites in the same categories: on a stick, in a bowl, in a pickle, in a batter and in between, in order to show familiarity and similarity between global cuisine. This week the menu will include:
Lemongrass Pork Banh Mi Sandwiches
Green Papaya Salad
Wood-Grilled Chicken Adobo Skewers
Pakora; savory fritters from India
Mango Lassi; mango milkshake based upon a traditional yogurt drink from Pakistan
Mark those calendars and treat yourself to this amazing tradition in Decca cuisine. Don't forget to tell a friend!
