Experience a chamber theatre reading of Shakespeare's “Hamlet” by candlelight in Locust Grove's 18th century Great Parlor. This 90-minute version of one of the Bard's greatest plays will be performed by members of Kentucky Shakespeare. Their presentation of Macbeth last December was a sell-out - so call now to reserve your seat for Hamlet. Doors open at 6:30 pm for light refreshments before the show. Seating is limited to 60 people; reservations are required.

2015 represents the 35th "running" of the Rodes City Run 10K, which began in 1981. During its 34-year history, the Rodes City Run 10K has contributed over $500,000 to local charities. The entire 2014 Triple Crown race series donated over $142,000 to the WHAS Crusade For Children on your behalf, totaling nearly $1.4 million since 2002. The event attracts nearly 10,000 runners and walkers and draws athletes from all over the country to compete in the 'heart' of downtown Louisville.

Then join us for the Louisville Free Public Library’s first-ever Random Fandom event at the Southwest Regional Library on Saturday!  From Star Wars to Harry Potter, Dr. Who to superheroes, there will be demonstrations and activities for fans of all kinds. This day-long convention for teens will include presentations on a wide range of fan topics—Anime, video games, TV/movies, and (of course) books—as well as games and activities.  There will be workshops on writing fan fiction and how to make chainmail jewelry, as well as a cosplay contest and lots of prizes.The convention is FREE and open to teens, grades 6 - 12. #RandomFandom   #LFPLTeens

The Ford Motor Company Kentucky Derby Festival Spelling Bee showcases Kentucky and Southern Indiana’s top spellers in a suspenseful competition that leaves only one standing. To advance to this event, students must first win their county competition. The top five finishers receive savings bonds from the Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation, while the overall champion gets to ride on the Winner’s Float in the Republic Bank Pegasus Parade.
