Louisville residents are encouraged to support the work of a local school this weekend. Holy Trinity Parish School [4] is putting on the musical, Peter Pan Junior Takes Flight at three performances over the coming weekend. Students have been rehearsing and practicing for the musical since October; lots of hard work has been put in by the sixth, seventh and eighth graders at Holy Trinity Parish School. UPDATE: Friday night's performance (March 6) has been canceled. See Holy Trinity Parish School's tweet here: [5]
Holy Trinity School @HolyTrinityLou @louisvillecom Peter Pan Shows are Saturday and Sunday now. The Friday show has been canceled. Join us at 2 or 7 pm Saturday & 2pm Sunday!
Want to know a secret about the show? The cast members and characters will actually fly! According to sources with the production, "ZFX Flying Effects, a world-renowned flying company who has flown performers from Cathy Rigby to Pink, is running the flying aspect of the production." ZFX has worked with companies all over the world. They are based here in Louisville, making this magical production take to the air and keeping a local spin on Peter Pan Junior makes it all the more spectacular. Peter Pan Junior is the very first production of its kind at Ursuline Art Center, the flying kind that is. The junior high musical program at Holy Trinity is less than five years old and is growing by leaps and bounds.
Hopefully weather won't play a factor in the production taking flight. The performance times are Saturday, March 7 at 2pm and 7pm and Sunday, March 8 at 2pm. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children; proceeds will go to support this musical theater program at Holy Trinity Parish School.
The Ursuline Arts Center [6] is located at 3114 Lexington Road.
