Scrambling frantically for Valentine's Day plans? Just want to do something slightly different and off-the-wall? Take a MegaBITE at the Kentucky Science Center this Thursday, February 12, from 6 to 10 p.m. [4] It's a little early, but it will certainly make your Valentine (or just you!) MEGAhappy. Plus, tickets are just $20 ($15 for members) if you use the discount code "BITE" and get your tickets online here. [4]

There will be many fantastic purveyors of local deliciousness at MegaBITE: Louisville's latest, hottest ice cream peddlers, Louisville Cream [5], will be scooping. V-Grits [6] will be sampling their vegan soul food (V-GRITS stands for Vegan Girl Raised In The South) in preparation for their official food truck launch. Squirrely's Food Truck [7] will also have their non-GMO and organic goods at MegaBITE, along with New Wave Burritos [8]. Also in attendance will be representatives from the Food Literacy Project [9], Vintner Select [10], Bake my Day [11], and more.

MegaBITE is focused on the science of food, and molecular gastronomy, which is just a fancy way of saying "science-y food." So if you attend MegaBITE you're likely to learn about the different reactions that create the tastes and textures you're sampling. There will be food-making demonstrations with chefs onsite, and you can feed your brain as you fill your stomach. This event will have a cash bar, and you've got to be 21+ to attent; the Science Center has been killing it with adult events lately; their Science With a Twist party had a great turnout, delicious food, giant Angry Birds and snakes. Yes, snakes.

Don't miss MegaBITE!
