If there's one example of a musician in Louisville who always has something going on, it's JaLin Roze. It's only fitting that he put that into his new song.
Roze gave the world "KYGT$" yesterday. The initials stand for a part of the chorus, KY Get The Money, which to further explain, means work hard, very hard, and success will come your way. Roze explains his specific success in "KYGT$."
He played the song at Forecastle and we finally have the song to listen to anywhere.
If you're following Roze on Twitter (@JalinRoze), you'll notice, he tweets about recording, practicing, and playing show. The JaLin Roze concert is never too far away.
The first line into "KYGT$" starts with "I got awards this year/I lined up tours this year/Bought more than gear." You could consider this Roze tooting his own horn, but it's more than likely a man who is enjoying the fruit of his labors. Roze is a guy who has worked for everything and he wrote a track to relish in it. He details more in the track that he's still JaLin, even while playing bigger slots: "I'm still the old me/Since '03/My show's packed and I sold seats."
As evidence by a thankful Louisville Music Awards acceptance speech, he's still a humble guy but when he played a set like he did at Forecastle, how can a guy not talk about hard work paying off?
To continue with the streak of JaLin Roze things going on, Louisville can expect a new EP called "FIGURE$." The date of its release is TBA.
WARNING: "KYGT$" CONTAINS EXPLICIT LYRICS.
