Halloween around Louisville is a month-long affair. Here’s a rundown on Halloween happenings at the Main library and branches of the Louisville Free Public Library [4]:

Once Upon a Time Storybook Halloween Party at the Main Library [5], 301 York Street

O​ctober 17, 6pm-8pm

Join in at the after-hours Halloween party; there will be stories (not too spooky) and family games and activities for the season. All ages welcome.

Spooky Storytime at the Jeffersontown Library, 10635 Watterson Trail

October 18, 2pm

Take part in sort of scary stories and a slightly creepy craft, for ages 4-8.

Harry Potter Halloween Party at the Middletown Library, 200 N. Juneau Drive

October 18, 2pm-3pm

Celebrate all things Harry Potter at this special Halloween party. For ages 6-18, call 502-245-7332 to RSVP.

Halloween Party at the Westport Library, 8100 Westport Road

October 25, 10:

15am

It’s a Halloween party for the little ones; costumes welcome. For ages 1-5 call 502-394-0379 to sign up.

It’s a Howl-o-ween Story Party at the Western Library, 604 S. 10th Street

October 25, 

2pm

Join in for stories that go bump in the night. All ages welcome.

Trick or Treat Storytime at the New Southwest Regional Library, 9725 Dixie Highway

October 25, 2pm

Listen to some silly trick or treat stories, crafts, games, candy, and dress up in your costume; it’s fun for all ages.

Halloween Party at the Newburg Library, 4800 Exeter Avenue

October 27, 

6pm

It’s time for a creepy craft and stories, for ages 2-10.

Middle School Mondays: Hogwarts Halloween at the Bon Air Library, 2816 Del Rio Place

Octo​ber 27, 6:30pm

Each Monday the Bon Air library hosts a program for older kids and middle schoolers. It’s for ages 9-14.

Not So Scary Costume Party at the Portland Library, 3305 Northwestern Parkway

October 27, 6:30pm

Halloween Crafts at the Middletown Library, 200 N. Juneau Drive

October 30, 3:30-4:30pm

A drop-in program to make some neat Halloween crafts.

Halloween Dance at the Fairdale Library, 10620 W. Manslick Road

October 30, 6pm

It’s Monster Mash time, for ages 6 and under.

Halloween Party with Squallis Puppeteers at the Iroquois Library, 601 W. Woodlawn Avenue

October 30, 6:30pm

The Squallis Puppeteers will present a story about a boy who wants to be a super hero.
