A man reflects on his life to determine if he's done enough good in Eda (Everyman), which U of L's theater arts department and African-American Theatre Program will present starting tonight.
Eda (Everyman) will go on Sept. 24-26, 28, and 29 at 8 p.m. each night. A matinee will also go on at 3 p.m. on Sept. 28. All performances are to happen in the Thrust Theatre, located on the U of L campus at 2314 S. Floyd Street [4] (same intersection as the McDonald's).
Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $12 for students, and $12 for senior citizens. All tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling the box office at 502-852-6814.
Eda (Everyman) focuses on a man who, facing death, looks back on a life lived to see if he had done enough to be remembered as a good man. During this time, the characters death, money, and God will speak with the man. African dances and Yoruba rituals will be used to tell a story that is both dramatic and comedic.
Nefertiti Burton directed the play for the African-American Theatre Program and U of L theater arts.
