Carmichael’s Bookstore [6] hosts book clubs, author events, and discussion groups throughout each month at both of its locations: in the Highlands at 1295 Bardstown Road and in the Clifton/Crescent Hill area at 2720 Frankfort Avenue. The Carmichael’s Community Book Club will be discussing The Crane Wife by Patrick Ness on Tuesday, September 23 at 7pm. For more information about this book club, click here [7]. The club has about 20 members and they welcome new people all the time. You can also email corin@carmichaelsbookstore.com [8] for more information.

Mayor’s Book Club [9]

The Mayor’s Book Club is a monthly meet-up at the Main Library downtown (LFPL) every third Wednesday from 12pm-1pm. Participants can join in on discussions and explore books and their stories rooted in many different cultures. The Mayor’s Book Club is currently discussing international-themed books; you can bring a brown bag lunch to the meetings. See more about it here [9].

Other book clubs and literary meet-ups around Louisville include the following:

A Reader’s Corner [13] hosts many book signings throughout the month and they are very active during the Frankfort Avenue Trolley Hop on the final Friday of each month. Upcoming book signing events include author Kevin Gibson signing his book Louisville Beer September 26 during the September Trolley Hop.
