How Louisville Natives & UofL Products Did in the NFL's Week 1 [2]

Here’s a quick look at how Louisville natives and University of Louisville products did in Week 1 of the NFL season.

Louisville natives

Corey Peters (Atlanta): The fifth-year defensive tackle, a Central High School graduate and former University of Kentucky standout, didn’t play in the Falcons’ 37-34 overtime win over New Orleans.

C.J. Spillman (Dallas): The sixth-year defensive back, a Central grad and former Marshall University standout, didn’t play in the Cowboys’ 28-17 loss to his former team, San Francisco.

Garry Williams (Carolina): The sixth-year offensive tackle, a Seneca High School grad and former UK standout, came off the bench in the Panthers’ 20-14 win at Tampa Bay.

Former UofL players

Gary Barnidge (Cleveland): The tight end, who is beginning his seventh season, had one catch for 13 yards in the Browns’ last-second 30-27 loss at Pittsburgh.

Teddy Bridgewater (Minnesota): The rookie quarterback didn’t play in the Vikings’ 34-6 win at St. Louis.

Preston Brown (Buffalo): The rookie, who started at inside linebacker, had a great debut, recording five tackles, two assists and one fumble recovery in the Bills’ 23-20 overtime win at Chicago.

Harry Douglas (Atlanta): The wide receiver, who is beginning his sixth season, had six catches for 69 yards in the Falcons’ 37-34 overtime win over visiting New Orleans.

Elvis Dumervil (Baltimore): The outside linebacker, who is beginning his ninth season, had one tackle assist off the bench in the Ravens’ 23-16 loss to visiting Cincinnati.

William Gay (Pittsburgh): The cornerback, who is beginning his eighth season, had one tackle off the bench in the Steelers’ 30-27 win over Cleveland.

Breno Giacomini (New York Jets): Giacomini started at right tackle for the Jets in their 19-14 win over visiting Oakland. Giacomini, who spent the last four seasons with Seattle, is beginning his seventh year.

Senorise Perry (Chicago): The rookie running back returned one kickoff for 21 yards in the Bears’ 23-20 overtime loss to visiting Buffalo.

Bilal Powell (New York Jets): The fourth-year running back had one carry for 4 yards in the host Jets’ 19-14 win over Oakland.

Calvin Pryor (New York Jets): The rookie free safety, and first-round draft pick in this past spring’s draft, had three tackles and one assist in the host Jets’ 19-14 win over Oakland.

Greg Scruggs (Seattle): The third-year defensive end didn’t play in the Seahawks’ 36-16 win over Green Bay on Thursday night.

Marcus Smith II (Philadelphia): The rookie linebacker, who was a first-round draft pick, didn’t play in the Eagles’ 34-17 victory over visiting Jacksonville.

Byron Stingily (Tennessee): The fourth-year offensive tackle didn’t play in the Titans’ surprising 26-10 win at Kansas City.

Eric Wood (Buffalo): Wood, beginning his sixth year, started at center - his 64th consecutive start - for the Bills in their 23-20 overtime win at Chicago.
