Bourbon & Broadway dinner at Corbett's Be Corbett’s: An American Place's guest for a four-course meal based on Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and infused with Four Roses bourbon. The smash hit musical serves as the inspiration for Chef Dean Corbett and his culinary team for its Bourbon & Broadway dinner. Enjoy the fine dining atmosphere of one of Louisville’s best restaurants while you enjoy Four Roses bourbon and meet brand ambassador Al Young. Some lucky guests will win tickets to see The Beauty and the Beast at the Kentucky Center in October. Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m. Dinner and a movie featuring 'Big Night' at Seviche Chef Anthony Lamas will continue Seviche’s popular dinner and a movie series with the film Big Night. The feature will be shown on an eight-foot screen in the private dining room while a seven-course Italian dinner inspired by the movie is served. Seating is limited, so make reservations. Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m. Fifth Third Bank's 'Dracula' blood drive at Fourth Street Live! Support Actors Theatre and the Red Cross by helping them reach their goal of 50 pints. All blood donors will receive a complimentary pizza lunch provided by Bearno’s and will be entered into a drawing for two free tickets to Fifth Third Bank’s Dracula. Free pedicab rides to the Bloodmobile are available from a limited downtown radius. Sept. 27, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Kentucky Opera presents 'Tosca' at the Brown Theatre Flames of passion engulf the beautiful opera singer, Floria Tosca, her lover Cavaradossi and the corrupt police chief, Baron Scarpia. To be with her true love, Tosca must sacrifice her self-respect and eventually her life. But not before having her revenge on the man who took it all away. Starring Kara Shay Thomson as Floria Tosca. Sept. 28, 8 p.m. Trolley Hop stop at A Reader's Corner Bookstore As the days get cooler, Frankfort Avenue is a perfect destination for evening strolls, enjoying a delicious meal on the patio of one of the many restaurants and browsing the unique collection of stores including A Reader's Corner Bookstore. Enjoy outdoor entertainment on the porch and then come inside for yummy refreshments. This month A Reader's Corner will be featuring special guest and premiere guitarist, Misha Feigin. Sept. 28, 6-10 p.m. Faces at the Palace concert series launch party at the Palace Theatre For the first time ever, the Louisville Palace will be calling on local musicians. The Theatre treasure will open its door and broadcast the party live for the Faces at the Palace concert series launch party. Kicking off the Faces at The Palace series will be heavy hitters The Tunesmiths featuring She Might Bite and WFPK’s DJ Matt Anthony. Hosted in the Faces Lobby of The Palace, these local favorites will be rockin’ the architectural gem. Sept. 28, 8 p.m.-1 a.m.
The 'Princess Bride Experience' at The Alley Theater What is the Princess Bride Experience? Part Renaissance faire, part movie, part performance piece and all fundraiser for The Alley Theater 's new season. Sept. 29, 12 p.m. Vampire's Ball at Dracula's Castle at Actors Theatre Trade your carnivorous inclination for fluids of red with some of the edible delights of local chefs from Garage Bar, St. Charles Exchange and Top Chef competitor Edward Lee. Quench your unwavering thirst for liquids with spirits from some of Louisville's finest keepers of the drink. Burlesque troupes will mesmerize mortals with seductive charm while bands provide a thrilling soundtrack. Dress as your favorite ghoul, vampire or provocateur and come out for a frightful evening of fun. Sept. 29, 9 p.m. Twilight Tour at Cave Hill Cemetery Enjoy a twilight tour on our tractor-driven, rustic hay wagon of Cave Hill Cemetery with Michael Higgs or Steve Wiser. All proceeds benefit the Cave Hill Heritage Foundation. Sept. 29, 6:30 p.m.
Fall Antiques Market at Locust Grove In addition to American country antiques, the show features formal furniture, books and ephemera, ceramics, jewelry and silver. Added feature this year: at 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium, quilt expert Shelly Zegart will talk about the quilt marketplace and collecting quilts. Admission includes tours of the historic house museum. Concessions are available. Proceeds support Historic Locust Grove. Sept. 30, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Princess Tea Party at the Frazier History Museum Put on your finest tea or princess attire and join us for tea and savories, activities, exhibition access and lots of Princess Diana fun at this special event designed just for children. “Diana: A Celebration” exhibition access begins at 3 p.m. Sept. 30, 2-6 p.m. University of Louisville Theatre presents 'Shakin' the Mess Outta Misery' at Thrust Theatre The play, illustrating the struggles and turbulent times of the 1960s South, will be directed by Lundeana Thomas. African American Theatre Program director Shay Youngblood's play combines storytelling, music and dance in recalling family stories based on the strong "big mamas" who watched over and guided her. Sept. 30, 3 p.m.
