Bit to Do [1]
By Erin Nevitt [3]

I absolutely love taking my toddler to storytime! Whether it’s a special storytime at a bookstore or a weekly visit to the Jeffersontown Library (LFPL), we have so much fun listening to stories, acting silly, making a craft, and meeting new friends. Here’s a roundup of area storytimes for younger ages.

A Reader’s Corner Bookstore [4]
On the Second Saturday of every month, they host a children’s story time. The next one is August 9 at 11am with a story, refreshments, and a free used book as a prize for each child to take home.

Barnes and Noble: [5]

The Shoppes at Plainview location [6] hosts a monthly “Tales at Twilight” program for families. They usually read a story and do a little activity. The next one is this Friday evening, July 25 at 7pm.

The Paddock Shops location [7] has a story hour listed on their events calendar for each Saturday in August at 11am. The upcoming ones are August 2, August 9, and August 16.They also have other fun events listed for children and families.

Brilliant Sky Toys and Books [8]

This St. Matthews book store hosts a “Treehouse Tales” every Wednesday at 10:30am. Their Facebook page [9] is pretty regularly updated, even listing the weekly themes.

Carmichael’s Bookstore [10]

Carmichael’s hosts occasional children’s events. They are hosting their Carmichael’s Kids grand opening celebration on Sunday, August 10, 1pm-4pm. It will be a street party on Longest Avenue at Bardstown Road. The new children’s bookstore location will be located at 1313 Bardstown Road and is opening in August 2014.

Half Price Books: Hurstbourne/Cherry Springs Location [11]

This weekend is a free family-fun Half Price Books Weekend Carnival. They will be leading carnival games, face painting, and magic acts. There will be games, prizes, and a raffle giveaway too. The event is on July 26 and 27. They also host Story Time Saturdays on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 2pm-4pm. The next one is Saturday, August 16.

Jeffersonville Township Public Library [12]

The library in Jeffersonville hosts “Mother Goose on the Loose” (held most every Tuesday and Wednesday). The next one is Wednesday, July 23 at 10:30am.

Louisville Free Public Library [13]

Most toddler and preschool storytimes occur on Wednesdays & Thursdays at 10:15am and 11am. Here is the link [14] to all current library location storytimes.
