It’s raining, it’s pouring, no man is snoring when you have an active toddler like I do! And in the summertime, when Louisville gets a stormy, rainy, gloomy day like today, you have to find something to do indoors! Where can you go? Here are three places that I would recommend:
1. Awesome Outdoor Products!
This place in Middletown sells outdoor play structures, but they also have open play most days during their normal operating hours. 2. Play Areas!
Head inside to your toddler’s favorite kid-friendly restaurant that has play structures, or check out the large play area known as “Noah’s Ark” at Southeast Christian Church. Places around town that cater to burning off steam inside and are great for toddlers and preschoolers, and kids most ages: My Gym Louisville [9], Open Gym and Swim at All About Kids [10], Puzzles Fun Dome [11], KaZoing Party and Play [12], and SIGS [13] and the Griffin Recreation Center [14] in Southern Indiana come to mind.
3. Get Cultural!
Many of the Louisville area attractions listed on the Vision Louisville Cultural Pass Program [15] are located indoors. You can also always head to your local public library [16] to check out a storytime, special program, and get some summer reading done. Let your toddler pick up his/her summer reading prizes from LFPL [17]: it includes a free Frosty from Wendy’s, a great way to end a day inside!
We usually think of indoor activities in the colder winter months; here is a great list [18] for you and your toddlers or younger ones to expand upon.
