Novae, one of Louisville’s prized choral ensembles, will present a concert of new works by American composers this Sunday at Kentucky Country Day Theater.
Now entering its third decade, Voces Novae has grown into a Louisville musical institution, earning a reputation for its insightful interpretations of both standard and contemporary repertoire. Founded by Frank A. Heller, III and comprised of as many as seventy musicians, the ensemble takes its namesake from the Latin
new voices
and considers itself the most “eclectic, living, unique” game in town.

Voces
Novae to be “masterful interpreters” whose musical tastes range from early chant to modern choral works. The ensemble’s broad repertoire and distinct
aesthetics
have yielded collaborations with other local favorites like the Louisville Orchestra and the Louisville Ballet and have also produced a handful of recordings.
Voces
Novae’s mission reads, in part, “We are dedicated to awakening the highest musical artistry, providing a camaraderie that nurtures our members' musical and personal development, and delivering a gift to our audience that evokes the spirit with which we embrace our music.” This weekend’s performance looks to offer exactly that.
